Despite fading and wear, it still dazzles the eye with saturated hues of crimson, ebony, jade and gold. Its richly foliate design reaches through the centuries with the power of nature’s life-force. Order is attained through a symmetrical pattern radiating out from a line of central palmettes and enclosed within a broad tripartite border. In Nourison’s interpretation, the fertile floral design is resplendent in red-gold shades of sunrise woven upon a striated ground of captivating blues that range from royal to teal.
